Who has a dead silent tank with overflow and sump? - Reef Central Online Community: "The last set up, I was running an eshopps refugium sump so the water came from the main and went crashing into the first compartment that is more or less an 10" by 10" chamber with 8" water height. It made all kinds of splashing and gurggling sounds. The tank I had at my previous house, I ran a wet dry sump and the water went from main down to a layer of filter media and trickled through the bio balls. I don't remember it being nearly as loud as my last set up was. I would like some proven ideas that don't involve a custom designed tank. The durso was great for the top end of the last tank but what can silence the sump? "
